Are You feeling sad ?

Are You feeling sad ?

Are You Feeling Sad ?I found Solace in “Alhumdulillah”.Try it !

I was running the blind race of life -chasing money, power and position.I wanted to be the best at everything .I ran and ran and ran but whenever I raised my head to congratulate myself for my achievement ,I felt far behind. Knowing far well that there is no end to my race,I kept on running. The glamour of life took me to a  world  where I always felt unfortunate and sad.I am a muslim but satan made me feel upset with whatever I had.I measured the happiness with the glamorous social profile of my friends and collegues.I looked at my Collegues who got a better pay for their work and at my friends who enjoyed vacations after vacations. I felt deprieved of the Sweetness of life.(Naujobillah!)

This is not my own story but the Satanic thought that comes to each one of us and grasp our throat(probably not only mine!) and we really become unfortunate to acknowledge the immense blessing Allah has bestowed us with.

feeling sad

Today I would like to take my time to make astaghfar for my every act of Impatience and Unthankfullness.

I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the world and of my own nafs.Oh Allah!I have been so Unthankful when I Complained about my deterioting health. There are number of People who can’t even stand, see, hear, talk, feel or understand. You made me so beautiful but I kept comparing the colour of my skin, hair and composure. You gave me the ability to earn while there are thousand crippled, unqualified people around the world who are forced to beg for their living.Every Morning I see the beauty of your creation,I feel the warmth of my close friend and relatives, stand perfectly in front of the mirror every morning ,get a perfect meal to feed my belly but the human in me wants more.

Today, when I walked the lane of the hospital,my eyes were overwhelmed with the suffering of others .There are mothers who are giving each and every second of their life to their abnormal/crippled children. There are people who are paralysed and can do nothing by themselves. There are people loosing there legs, hands, eyes. There are people dying….

There are People dying from unexpected bombings, accidents, disease, tortures, sudden deaths. But still satan makes us feel unfortunate.Oh Allah protect me from this Satan which makes the saying of my “Alhumdulillah” void by making me feel unfortunate at times.

Everything belongs to you .Accept me as your humble servant and make me thankful and Patient.Include me among the ones with whom you are pleased and do not make me among the ones who earn your worth.I can never be unfortunate because I am a Muslim.I have the biggest fortune of your pleasure because I am a Muslim. and anything I desire from you is to increase me in taqwa.

Oh Allah!forgive me and forgive my parents and make us righteous. There is One dua which is coming in my heavy heart and in my wet eyes

Transliteration:

Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran wala yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa anta, Faghfirli maghfiratan min indika war-hamni, innaka antalGhafur-Rahim

Translation:

O Allah, I have greatly wronged myself and
no one forgives sins but You.
So, grant me forgiveness and have mercy on me.
Surely, you are Forgiving, Merciful

This Du’a was taught by our Prophet(PBUH) Bukhari :: Book 8 :: Volume 75 :: Hadith 338

Please take a moment to read the above dua and please seek forgiveness for yourself and your parents and ask Allah to forgive my sins too and make me a muslim who is productive to the Ummah.Ameen.

P.S :Islam Hashtag loves its readers and You all are always in our duas.May Allah bless you all ,always.

Ameen.

Am I Beautiful Enough?

I am beautiful

Am I beautiful or am I not ?

Am I beautiful is One question that Probably everyone of Us have asked Our self .Beauty is One standard that breaks apart People of all ages. The girls in their teens bury themselves in their pillow feeling low about their single teen pimple .The Married Sisters waste all their time and energy erasing their tiny faint Stretch marks off their body and doing everything they possibly can to lose their mummy tummy and when 40s arrive they feel saddened at their new emerging wrinkles and Sagging Skin .They force themselves under the Knife to improve their Physical appearance.Well, this is not over yet,the Same is with the brothers .Most men too dream of 6 pack body and try to frame themself into a” Macho Man”.One Question that has always bothered me is” Who defines beauty?”

Who defines beauty?

Beauty is Something we endlessly strive for.Because beauty and appearance has become commodified and traded, it has been weakened and abused. It  is often distorted, misunderstood and shadowed by a wide amount of conflicting pressures. Beauty has become the thing we cannot ever fully achieve and certainly not retain. Yet it is something, which in the US alone $5billion is spent trying to enhance, recreate, and manufacture. Beauty is not just assisted by products it has become a product.

The truth of beauty is that the concept of beauty varies with each and every Individual. The Picture of beauty is the Picture that has been Painted in Our mind .Beauty has varied throughout the time, cultures and vast different Perception of the World.Remember the Viewpoint of a bunch of People cannot define you and your beauty.

Does Your Scar,Your Excessive Weight and the Colour of Your Skin make You less attractive:

You will be astonished to Know that the thing that has been worrying you over ages is not a real Concern at all.

Do You Know ?:

  • In Ethiopia's Karo tribe, women's scars are considered both attractive and super-sexy. The practice of self-scarring is a form of adornment cherished by the people of this culture. Ethiopia’s Karos tribe,Women scars are considered Super attractive .They even pactice Self Scarring as a form of adorement.
  • The zero figures are not adorable in all Cultures.Do you Know that Mauritious Moman are lauded for gaining weight to the extent that Parents send their young girls to camp where they are forced to eat 15,ooo calories a day to make them fat and desirable.
  • Many Beauty Contest Winners are darker than Other Contestants.

Real Beauty Or a deformed Human being?

The reality of beauty is that What We See in magazines is purely fiction.Yes,You can go online and actually see the videos to what they do to the Pictures. The Pictures we see in magazines are that of Models. The Photographer take their snaps and then temper with the actual Image to make it picture perfect by elongating the legs, thinning the waist line, etc.Don’t you think the pictures of beautiful woman in the magazine is actually a deformed human being. When we are so exposed to these pictures,we start to think how we are supposed to look and it is no wonder that most people have a problem with their body Image.

The Pressure to Look beautiful and distinct from Others has always been the craze for Women of high Society .People even equate their happiness with their body Image and beauty,Especially theWomen.Beauty is fragile. If you like a Person just  because of his/her’s Physical appearence, you can suffer a devasting breakup.Beauty doesn’t remain forever. But If we reframe the entire way of looking at thing to quranic view of the world, our mind would shift. We would ask ourself different questions. It wouldn’t be how do I look but what do I look like in the inside. Our sucess on life is based on the purification that we have in our life and not in the Colour of Our Skin .

Allah has created Everything with a beauty.Allah  has created everything with proficiency and He created the human being in the best of forms.Every Creation of allah is beautiful.True beauty is not the Physical beauty but True beauty is in our words and in our deeds and action.

Being Beautiful and Attractive :

Being Attractive and Beautiful is recommended to all Muslims because Allah(swt) has created Everything with beauty and We should try to maintain the beauty we are blessed  with. But finding fault in our Physical appearance and with something that we have no control is disliked. Someone once approached the Prophet (peace be upon him) and asked: “What if someone likes that his clothing and his shoes are beautiful?” The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: “Allah loves to see the affects of His grace upon His servant.” [Sunan al-Tirmidhī(2819)] When the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty,” this means that Allah blesses us for the beauty that we bring about through our good efforts. He loves beauty in us, just as He loves us to be possessed knowledge, generosity, clemency and purity.

Do You Need to be Sad because You think You are not beautiful enough?

Beauty is not the colour of our Skin .It is not the acessories and Makeups that make us beautiful but It is the Purity of Our heart,Our deeds and action that make us beautiful. It is beautifully said that beauty lies in the eyes of beholder.Everyone  has their own perspectives and views about the world. What one person may see as beautiful, another may see just the opposite. This is really what it boils down to. Everyone takes their experiences in life and uses those experiences to explain and interpret the world around them. What we need to believe about Ourself is that “I am beautiful because I am a Creation of Allah (Swt) .”

And If Everything fails you to believe that you are beautiful then remember One thing -“Know you (all), that the life of this world is but play, amusement, and embellishment.” [Sūrah al-Hadīd: 20] “.May Allah give us the Insight to see the beauty in us and acknowledge the beauty of others that allah has created them with .

Cryptic Masonry is the third part of the York Rite system of Masonic degrees, and the last found within the Rite that deals specifically with the Hiramic Legend. These degrees are the gateway to Temple restoration rituals or the Second Temple Legend. The body itself is known as either the Council of Royal & Select Masters or Council of Cryptic Masons depending on the jurisdiction.

Constituent degrees[edit]

Within the York Rite, members of Cryptic Masonry meet as a Council, and the Council confers three degrees: Royal Master, Select Master, and Super Excellent Master. Outside the United States, Grand Councils have the right to confer other degrees such as the Royal Ark Marinerdegree in Canada and the Excellent Master degree in Scotland. In England and Wales, the York Rite degrees of Cryptic Masonry are part of the Order of Royal and Select Masters.

Organization[edit]

Local Council of Royal and Select Masters[edit]

A Council is in many ways the same as a Masonic Lodge; it has officers and a ritual degree system, which in this case consists of three degrees: Royal Master, Select Master, and Super Excellent Master. The Super Excellent Master degree is optional in some jurisdictions. The various positions in the lodge are modeled directly after Craft Masonry and though the names are often different the duties are largely the same. Their seating is a bit different, however, in that all three principals of a council sit on the east dais, while the captain of the guard and conductor of the council sit in the west and south.

Grand Councils[edit]

Every US state has its own Grand Council, which performs the same administrative functions for its subordinate Councils as a Grand Lodge does for its subordinate Lodges. In other countries, there are either national or state Grand Councils. The Council also has its own equivalents of Grand Lodge Officers, modified from the titles of the officers of a Council:

  • Most Illustrious Grand Master
  • Right Illustrious Deputy Grand Master
  • Right Illustrious Grand Principal Conductor of the Work
  • Right Illustrious Grand Treasurer
  • Right Illustrious Grand Recorder
  • Very Illustrious Grand Chaplain
  • Very Illustrious Grand Captain of the Guard
  • Very Illustrious Grand Conductor of the Council
  • Very Illustrious Grand Marshal
  • Very Illustrious Grand Steward
  • Very Illustrious Grand Lecturer
  • Very Illustrious Grand Sentinel

It should be noted that Jurisdictions that are not members of the General Grand Council may use different titles than those presented here. For instance, in Pennsylvania, the title “Most Puissant Grand Master” is used in place of “Most Illustrious Grand Master.” Many Prince Hall grand councils instead use the title “Grand Thrice Illustrious Master”.

In jurisdictions that have them, there are also Regional Deputy Grand Masters or District Inspectors appointed by the Most Illustrious Grand Master to oversee the districts of the jurisdiction as the representative of the Most Illustrious Grand Master. In other jurisdictions these duties are performed by a Master of the Arch. Grand Representatives are appointed to keep in contact with their counterparts in other jurisdictions.

Grand Councils also contribute to specific charities which differ from state to state.

General Grand Council[edit]

Many of the Grand Councils around the world are members of an umbrella group called General Grand Council of Cryptic Masons International, founded 25 August 1880.[1] It publishes a quarterly magazine called The Cryptic Freemason and supports the Cryptic Masons Medical Research Foundation, Inc.[2]

History and development of the Cryptic Degrees[edit]

The degrees of Royal and Select Master were not originally combined into one system, each having been conferred by separate parties and initially controlled by separate Councils. As near as may be determined from conflicting claims, the Select degree is the oldest of the Rite. It was customary to confer the Royal degree on Master Masons prior to the Royal Arch, and the Select degree after exaltation to the sublime degree. This accounts for the fact that control of the Cryptic degrees vacillated back and forth in many jurisdictions, even after the formation of Grand Councils. To this date, the Royal and Select degrees are controlled by Grand Chapter in Virginia and West Virginia, and conferred by subordinate Chapters in those jurisdictions.

The Royal degree appears to have been developed primarily in New York under direction of Thomas Lownds, whereas the Select was vigorouslypromulgated by Philip Eckel in Baltimore. It is claimed by Eckel that a Grand Council of Select Masters was formed in Baltimore in 1792, while it is definitely known that a Grand Council of Royal Masters (Columbian No. 1) was organized in 1810 in New York. It remained for Jeremy Cross to combine the two degrees under one system, which occurred about 1818, and this pattern was adopted in most jurisdictions as the degrees became dispersed beyond the eastern seaboard.

The degree of Super Excellent Master is not allied to the other two degrees of the Cryptic Rite, so far as its teachings and traditions are concerned. The records of St. Andrews Chapter in Boston indicate that a degree of this name was conferred during the latter part of the eighteenth century. The earliest positive reference to the Super Excellent in connection to the Cryptic Rite is December 22, 1817, when a “Lodge” of Super Excellent Masters was organized by Columbian Council of Royal Masters in New York. The incidents, teachings, and ritualistic format of the Super Excellent degree bear no resemblance in any former degrees so named, which appears to justify the claim that it is American in origin. This degree has been, and to some extent still is, a rather controversial subject. It is conferred as one of the regular Cryptic Rite degrees in some jurisdictions, whereas the others confer it as an honorary degree only; in some instances, separate Grand Councils of Super Excellent Masters have been formed.

Today’s Beautiful Hadith is about Prayers

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah RA from the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said:
A prayer performed by someone who has not recited the Essence of the Quran during it is deficient (and he repeated the word three times), incomplete. Someone said to Abu Hurayrah: [Even though] we are behind the imam? He said: Recite it to yourself, for I have heard the Prophet (may the blessings and peace of Allah be up on him) say: Allah (mighty and sublime be He), had said: I have divided prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves, and My servant shall have what he has asked for.
When the servant says: Al-hamdu lillahi rabbi l-alamin, Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says: My servant has praised Me. And when he says: Ar-rahmani r-rahim, Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says: My servant has extolled Me, and when he says: Maliki yawmi d-din, Allah says: My servant has glorified Me – and on one occasion He said: My servant has submitted to My power. And when he says: Iyyaka na budu wa iyyaka nasta in, He says: This is between Me and My servant, and My servant shall have what he has asked for. And when he says: Ihdina s-sirata l- mustaqim, siratal ladhina an amta alayhim ghayril-maghdubi alayhim wa la d-dallin, He says: This is for My servant, and My servant shall have what he has asked for.
Surat al-Fatihah, the first surah (chapter) of the Qur’an. i.e. standing behind the imam (leader) listening to him reciting al-Fatihah. “Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.” “The Merciful, the Compassionate”. “Master of the Day of Judgement”. “It is You we worship and it is You we ask for help”. “Guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favors, not of those against whom You are angry, nor of those who are astray”. It was related by Muslim (also by Malik, at-Tirmidhi, Abu-Dawud, an-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah). Hadith Qudsi 8

ISLAM: EEMAN MADE EASY (6 PILARS) The Heart Gets Sick

[ السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته ]

Assalamu Alaikum Waramatullahi Wabarakatuhu,

(Peace & Blessings of Almighty Allah Be Upon You)

[ بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ ]

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful

The heart gets sick as the body does and

its cure is in asking for forgiveness and protection.

It also becomes rusty like a mirror does and

it is polished by remembering Allah.

The heart can also be naked like the body and can lose its dress and decoration, which is piety,

and it can feel hunger and thirst like the body does, and its nourishment is knowledge, love, trust, and offering service to Allah

– Ibn Al-Qayyim

————————————————

Allah has said in the Qur’an:

“O you who have believed, enter into Islam completely [and perfectly] and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy” [Qur’an 2:208]

And Allah also said:

“And whoso obeys Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqun (those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Abu Bakr As-Siddiq), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are!” [Qur’an 4:69]

Wassalamu Alaikum Waramatullahi Wabarakatuhu,

Islamic Creed At-Tawheed and the Rejection of Taghoot(Part-1)

Bismillah ir Rahman ir Rahim Innal-Hamdalillah was-Salaatu was-Salaam `alaa Rasoolillah As-Salaamu alaikum wa-Rahmatullahi wa-Barakatuhu

Verily Tawheed is the first obligation that all the Messengers called to which formed the foundation of their call and their invitation to the people. Allah (swt) says: ‘We sent to every Ummah a messenger to command the people to submit to Allah exclusively and to reject Taghoot’. [EMQ 16:36]. Tawheed is the greatest Haq of Almighty Allah (swt) over his servant. It has been reported in Bukhari and Muslim, in a hadith narrated by Muadth Ibn Jabal (ra), that the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said: ‘The right of Allah over his servant is to submit to him exclusively and not to associate anything with him’. Whoever establishes the Tawheed enters Jannah and whoever negates the Tawheed they are from the people of hellfire. Establishing Tawheed is the path to happiness in this life and in the hereafter, whereas violating the Tawheed is the path of the miserable that will be doomed in this life and in the hereafter. Verily Tawheed is the only way for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and the Muslim world, for failure to establish the Tawheed amongst Muslims will be the cause of their failure, divisions and sectarian disputes.

Arqan al Tawheed

We must be aware that the Tawheed is composed of two pillars, Al Kufr bil Taghoot to reject all Taghoot and Al-Imaan billah to believe in Allah (swt). And know that man will never become a believer in Allah unless he rejects and disbelieves in the Taghoot. Whoever does not reject the Taghoot, then he has contradicted the basic message of all prophets and has contradicted the worship of Allah at its very roots for Allah (swt) says: ‘We sent to every Ummah a messenger to command the people to submit to Allah exclusively and to reject Taghoot’. [EMQ 16:36]

One cannot have Imaan in Allah (swt) unless he firsts disbelieves in the Taghoot. This is since Imaan and Shirk (polytheism) cannot be gathered together in one heart, for they are opposites. So one must remove all worship offered to other than Allah first and then establish worship to Allah (swt) alone afterward. Therefore, to believe in Allah (swt) we must reject that which contradicts the belief in Allah (swt) and we must therefore reject the Taghoot for Allah (swt) says “Whoever rejects Taghoot and believes in Allah then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold.” [al Baqarah 2:256] Mujaahid [d.103 h.] said ‘The most trustworthy handhold is imaan’ and as-Suddi [d.127 h.] said it is ‘Islam’ [Tafseer Ibn Kathir]. This ayah makes clear that there can be no Imaan without rejection of TTaghoot, and that believing in Allah (swt) as the only object of worship, as the only ‘illah’ is dependent upon rejecting any other object of worship.

The Kalimah of Tawheed, ‘Laa ilaaha ill Allah’ is a statement of negation nafi and affirmation ithbaat. When we are saying ‘Laa ilaaha’ we are rejecting all worship for other than Allah (swt) and when we say ‘ill Allah’ we are affirming that the worship is only for Allah (swt). Worship includes obedience Taa’ah. This means that we must accept that only Allah can legislate for us for Allah (swt) says “…The rule hukm is for none but Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him, that is the Straight Deen but most men know not.” [al Yusuf 12:40] and “…and He makes none to sharein His Rule…” [al Kahf 18:26]

Dear Brothers and Sisters, the way in which we are obliged to establish the above conditions and pillars of Tawheed, we are also obliged to fear and distance ourselves from shirk and to take precaution from all of its types, its gates and exits, whether the big shirk or small one, as verily, the biggest oppression is shirk and Allah (swt) will forgive everything except shirk. Whosoever falls into shirk, Jannah is forbidden for him and his residence will be hellfire: ‘Allah does not forgive Shirk or to associate with Him anything, but forgives less than that to whomever He wills’ [an Nisaa’ 4:48] Therefore Muslims should be aware about what negates and contradicts Tawheed in order to make a shield for themselves, protecting them from apostasy.

at-Taghout

As for the Shari’ah definition of Taghoot, it is that which is worshiped, obeyed, submitted to, or followed other then Allah (swt). This may include Shaytan idols, stones, sun, stars, angels, or even human beings. Likewise saints, graves, pirs, rulers and leaders, other ruling systems besides Islam may also be falsely worshipped and made into Taghoot. Imaam Maalik (d.179ah) said ‘The Taghoot is anything that is worshipped apart from Allah’ [Tafseer Ibn Kathir]. Imaam Ibn al Qayyim (d.751ah) said, ‘The Taghoot is anyone to whom the slave [a’bd] goes beyond the limits whether it is someone worshipped [ma’boodin] or followed [matbooi’n] or obeyed [mutaai’n’].

Shaykh Muhammad ibn A’bdul Wahhaab [d.1206 h.] said ‘The Taaghout are many and their heads are five: Iblees, whoever is worshipped and is pleased with that, whoever calls the people to worship himself, whoever claims to possess anything from the knowledge of the unseen and whoever rules by other than what Allah has sent down’ as well as ‘The word Taghoot is general. So everything that is worshipped besides Allah, while being pleased with this worship – whether it is something worshipped, someone followed, or someone obeyed in the absence of obedience to Allah and His Messenger, then that is considered Taghoot.

With regards to the Rulers of the Muslim Lands today who many claim for them to be believers, not only do they willingly obey, follow, submit and bow down to the laws of the kuffar, resulting in the abolishment in the first Pillar of Tawheed i.e. Al Kufr bil Taghoot, they themselves order the people to be obey, follow and submit to them and the kuffr which the legislate, and therefore become Taghoot themselves. Indeed the list of their kuffr, shirk and the rejection and hatred for the shariah of Allah (swt) is overwhelming. So whoever rules by other than what Allah revealed, implementing it knowingly, then he is a Taghoot, even if he claims what he may claim. And indeed Allah has declared him a disbeliever.

This verse was revealed in relation to a Muslim who was debating with a Jew about a certain issue. Rather then making Tahakum to Allah (by referring to Muhammad (saw)), he referred to a Taghoot Sorcerer (Al Ka’ab ibn Ashraf) for judgment and for this he became a Kafir and apostatized from the deen of Islam. Ibn Katheer [d.774 h.] said ‘The ayah has a general meaning as it chastises all those who refrain from referring to the Quran and Sunnah for judgement and prefer the judgement of whatever they chose of falsehood, which befits the description of Taghoot here. This is why Allah said “….and they wish to go for judgement to the Taghoot…” [Tafseer Ibn Kathir].

Thus, the ayah is clear in declaring the kufr disbelief of those who went to other than the revelation from Allah for laws and judgement. The ayah said “…claim that they believe…” which means that they don’t believe. Allah (swt) made clear that accepting judgement and legislation from other than Allah and His messenger is kuffr [disbelief], Allah (swt) says “But no by your Lord, they can have no imaan (belief) until they make you judge in all disputes among them and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions and accept them with fullest submission.” [an Nisaa’ 4:65]

What would you do?!

Similar is the reality of death and what comes after it. Every one of us shall taste it whether poor or rich; healthy or sick, old or young; leader or led and none of us can escape it.

ALLAAH says (interpretation of the meaning):

Everyone shall taste death.

And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full.

And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful.

The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing).

[Surah Al-E-Imran: Ayaat 185 (Ch.3: Verse 185, Qur’an)]

AllAH says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish.

And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will remain forever

Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny?”

[al-Rahmaan 55:26-28]

ALLAAH says,

“Wheresoever you may be, death will overtake you even if you are in a fortress built up strong and high.”

(An-Nisaa 4: 78)

Prophet Muhammad (salla ALLAAHu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“If you reach the evening then do not expect to reach the morning, and if you reach the morning then do not expect to reach the evening. Take from your health before your sickness, and from your life before your death.”

– [Reported by Bukhari]

You see a youth who was full of health and energy suddenly falls dead without warning; thereby making that youthfulness and energy fade away, bringing all his senses to a complete standstill. That youth might even be a great scholar, an eloquent author, a skilled physician or brilliant inventor but his quality cannot at all prevent death from overtaking him when his time is due.

How near is death?!

Every day it becomes closer to us and no sooner has the book reached its appointed time that we belong among the dead. Then it becomes clear that life is really like flowers that bloom then afterwards wither or like a lamp that illuminates then afterwards dies down.

Let those who crave for this world and its pleasures ponder over these scattered graves all over the place and realize that the way to pleasures and lustful things, though decorated with beautiful roses inevitably leads to the present condition of those buried in these graves.

Dear siblings! What we witness in the cemeteries is a great lesson for us which is that:

We all will die! Let us prepare for the hereafter!

Sad, that we don’t learn it! It is due to the disease of our hearts!

GHIBTA! [[ Heedlessness! ]]

Where are those who achieved their aims and none were comparable to them in that? They collected but could not eat what they collected; they built mansions but could not live there! We on our part are still swimming in the pool of life as if we are meant to live here forever.

Fellow Muslims! It is a fact that this worlsd and its tribulations appear insignificant in the eyes of him who always remembers death, for, he has lofty aims and strong resolutions; he is far from hypocrisy and always yearns for the everlasting bliss in the eternal Paradise.

Oh ALLAAH azza wa jal Open our minds to the reality!

Aameen Ya Rabbal ‘Aalameen!

w ALLAAHu Subhanu wa ta’ala ‘Aalam!

Take Care,

As Salaam O ‘Alaykum Wa Rehmatullaahi Wa Barakatuh!

ALLAAH Humma inni as alukal huda wat tuqa wal ‘afaafa wal ghina

[[ Oh ALLAAH! I beseech You for Guidance, Taqwa, Chastity and Contentment. ]]

– Du’aa taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)

the Strong Ones

As Salamu alaykum to all. The “strong one”, Prophet Muhammad {peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him} is not the one who could beat the other up [wrestling]. The “strong one” is he who controls himself from getting angry. You wanna talk about being strong and lift “weights”? well let me tell you what weight is, what “heavy” is. it’s the covers. you know, your blanket! lifting that up so you can get up before dawn and make wudu [ritual washing before prayer, etc] and make your prayers, That’s heavy! That’s a weight!

what most of you know as ‘jihad’ is not “holy war”. there is no arabic term for holy war. wars arent holy. Jihad literally means to struggle. there are two types of jihad. the lesser jihad is the struggle on the battlefield. the so-called “holy war”. the greater jihad, believe it or not is the struggle within ourselves. the constant fight within us between good and evil. doing whats right and shunning whats wrong. the struggle like wresting with those covers and getting up and reading your salat.

well that’s all for now. I hope you’ve gained something from my blog today.

Peace

Birthday’s

I am reposting this from another’s post. I feel the same way the original poster feels.

I wonder, why don’t muslims celebrate birthdays?  The only two answers I ever get are: It is not part of our religion and The Prophet (saws)  didn’t do it.  I agree that it is not part of the religion.  It is a cultural thing.  But the religion doesn’t forbid cultural practices as long as they don’t conflict with Islamic principles.  Isn’t that why the Prophet (saws) told Ayesha that she should have encouraged that tribe to beat the duff at their walima, because it was part of their tribal/cultural practice?

As for the other argument, “the Prophet (saws) didn’t do it.”  That may be true.  I have never read a sunnah that describes whether he did or he did not.  But I also have never read a sunnah where he forbade it.  I thought if something is not forbidden by either Quran or Sunnah then it is allowed.  (As long as it falls within the boundaries of Islam.)

I don’t view the celebration of a birthday as an idol/pagan act.  I do not associate it in any way with Shirk.  Instead I encourage my children to Thank Allah for all of their gifts and explain that every good thing that comes to them, comes by the Mercy of Allah.  Just as they received gifts, I encouraged them to remember those children who aren’t as fortunate and they were to pick a toy out that they could donate to them.

I think this is a good way, of teaching them about Allah’s generosity, mercy, blessings and the need to give sadaqa.  Birthdays are the one day that is devoted to one particular child, to show them how they are loved and appreciated and special.  We should do that everyday.  But, truthfully, we don’t.  And rarely are they the focus of that undivided special attention.  It builds confidence, trust and self-esteem.  And can be done in a way that incorporates Islam.

So I hope someone will respond and tell me why shouldn’t I continue this practice.  Why can’t muslims celebrate birthdays?  Hmmm, I still wonder…
